Hi
I recently had a sleep study done after many years of waking up in complete terror with dreams of being suffocated or being unable to inhale.
I'm new to the terminology etc so bare with me.
After 4 doctors told me I'm crazy and several psyche reviews (who told me I'm not), emergency crew telling me no-one just stops breathing (I do, even when I'm awake) I finally got some answers.
I'm trialling an autoset machine I have tried to put in my profile. Just a nose plug mask. After 2 weeks on auto and an average of 6.5 pressure the sleep consultant has me on a two week constant pressure of 6.4
This seems to have stopped my CS events but I am now getting lots of burping and acid burning down in my esophagus.
SO, any tips etc in going forward and advice on what to ask the specialist before I invest in my own machine, how to manage the side effects, all would be very much appreciated. I can't imagine what I haven't thought of.
On auto I sometimes woke up with air rushing out my mouth, now I seem to have stopped doing that and just open my mouth enough to dribble all night! This is actually a relief after years of burning and dry mouth but I wonder if it's the pressure causing it. I don't have any data as the machine is remotely linked to the consultant not me. Would a chin strap fix this?

Re: Introducing myself: CSA and OSA
There's data available on the machine's LCD screen.
See the manual for how to make the changes and access the on screen data....Essentials needs to be changed from "usage" to "Plus" and you can access the data the machine will show.
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf
You can also use the SD card that should be in the machine and use available software
https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment
Accessing your data either on the machine or using the SD card does nothing to the data that your equipment supplier might be getting.
Doesn't hurt a thing.
Read up on "aerophagia" which is a common complaint from cpap users...belly discomfort from the air getting into the digestive tract. There are some things that can be done to help reduce it.
Your pressure is already fairly low but maybe adding some EPR (see the manual) might be a option.
