CPAPTalk newbie here. The CMS-50D+ is a WONDERFUL DEVICE!!! It's now compatible with Win10 as just I tried it (I do this every couple of months).
I bought this device a few years ago and used it with on my Win7 computer. The reports it presented were virtually identical to the one I got from an official sleep clinic study, SPO2 section. I bought a Win10 computer last year and found it incompatible with the oximeter as many other forums on the web also claimed. Lots of frustration from purchasers of the CMS-50D+.

BIG NOTE: the USB-looking cable that comes with it IS NOT Strictly A USB CABLE, it just looks like one. It's a USB to serial in one cable. Do yourself a BIG favor and label it as only compatible with the CMS-50D Plus oximeter and no USB device so you don't lose or misuse it. Shame on them for making it look like a normal USB cable. It ONLY WORKS with the oximeter. I lost the cable from the 1st one I bought (probably got mixed up with my older USB mini cables and disappeared) so I had to by another CMS-50D + just to get the cable!

Anyway, go here
http://www.pulseoxstore.com/content/manuals-downloads
to get both the SPO2Review and SPO2Assistant downloads (V1.5 and V 2.4 respectively). Install and you'll probably find they work with the latest Win10 update.

I have moderate success at using rechargeable AAA NMiH batteries but can get (maybe) one night use before recharge as the NMiH voltage (1.2v vs 1.5v) is too low. I can use a recharger to get one more night of use out of alkaline batteries. I use a lightly wrapped rubberband to squeeze my finger a little tighter on the oximeter placed my non-dominant hand to keep the device on through the night. I have also used a Velcro strap around my wrist with a small ribbon connected to the oximeter to keep it on.

Great product for following how effective your CPAP machine is (try with and without CPAP to convince yourself) and whether you need additional help like tape across your mouth as I do :-( Though it's not clinically credentialed as an oximeter, it's the lowest cost trend (recording) oximeter you can buy. Loan it to friends and family to see if they may be candidates for sleep apnea and an official sleep study. This device can effectively screen most OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) candidates even though it's not clinically approved. I am not a medical Dr. but have done extensive Engineer-based research and have read many medical journal papers about the effectiveness of just a recording oximeter is for screening for the majority of OSA problems. Take a printed copy of the report to your doctor if you suspect problems from OSA. It can affect or save a life!!!

I am presently working on a CNAP solution (you figure it out :-)). There is a Univ of Wash researcher who has discovered how to turn a unmodified cellphone into an active sonar device to detect nearby breathing movement (or stopping of) to screen for OSA.

I use a CMS 50DP device (Veridian's branding) with Windows 10 Pro (64-bit, release 1909).

The ONLY version of SpO2 software that has worked for me, is SpO2 version 1.2. Nothing newer. :-(

I've tried all sorts of versions of SpO2 2.x, 3.x, various Silicon Labs drivers, etc.

And with OSCAR, I cannot "import directly from recording device" but only from "Import from a datafile saved by another program, such as SpO2 Review"

I apologize in advance if I'm missing something in this discussion but as we all know, device driver issues and Windows (since Windows version 3.x) are frequent "companions" in sentences -- as well as a lot of curse words. . . . ;-)

Any words of wisdom (other than avoiding Windows and all Microsoft products?) ;-)

Thanks!

Halloween is coming!
Stay out of the graveyard to avoid zombies.
Especially at night--on the full moon.
Which is on Oct. 31, 2020.

You're missing that the previous post (and probably poster) hasn't been seen in a yr and a half.
