Urgent: CPAP Power Cord - Mexico City

Post by bostonbrad » Fri Dec 30, 2016 1:24 am

Help! I just got to Mexico City and I brought my computer power cord by mistake. I use a Respironics REMStar which has a 12v 3 amp max power adapter. Would anyone know where to find one? I'm doing my due diligence but I've never been to Mexico City and I've never forgotten my power cord so I don't even know where to begin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try Best Buy
Chain retailer with a large array of brand-name electronics, computers, appliances & more.
Calle Francisco Petrarca 202, Miguel Hidalgo, Polanco, 11570
Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico
Phone: +52 800 237 8289

Opens at 11:00 AM

Ask for:
Insignia™ - 6' 2-Slot Nonpolarized Power Cord
Model: NS-HW304 SKU: 6239016
Compatible with Sony PlayStation 4, most laptops, TVs and other devices that use a 2-slot, nonpolarized power cord; 6' length

This is the correct US version; they may use a different version, but if you show them a picture from the US Best Buy website they should be able to accommodate you or direct you.
On the other hand, if you need the complete power adapter (brick and all) you may be out of luck - finding a 12v DC adapter might be possible, but finding one of sufficient wattage to handle the load with a humidifier could be very difficult except from a Respironics seller or service center. This is the phone number for Respironics Mexico: (55) 66280565 .

If you have the power block but are just missing the cord, try to get someone at your hotel to direct you to a store that would carry power cords. Take the power block with you. Maybe someone at the hotel can even scrounge one up for you.

I need to repeat this to everybody. Please make a permanent packing list for your CPAP. Include any international adapters that you might need on the list.

Thankfully, you're in a large city in a relatively advanced country, not in the wilderness.
