ResMed Slimline tubing and leaks (check your tubes!)

Post by raisedfist » Fri Dec 16, 2016 5:23 pm

I found a Resmed Slimline hose in my closet, still in the packaging, and hooked it up last night to a s9 series ResMed. While my main hose was drying.

Interestingly enough while watching the leak rate live it was almost 30l/m with the mask properly fit. I couldn't feel any air coming out of the tubing, but I took the tubing out and put a regular size tube in and the leak rate went down to 1-2l/m. SlimLine tubing must have a pinhole type leak or something somewhere along the way.

Did you change the hose diameter setting on the machine with each different hose?

If using the standard tubing, adjust the tube

Yes indeed. That's why I was surprised.

I had a bad hose a few years ago and thought my machine went wacky. It was a new hose too so I never expected it to be the problem.
