Sleep study suggestions?

Post by SleepyMcgee » Wed Dec 14, 2016 8:56 am

So I finally got a sleep study approved by insurance. I've been using a XPAP for 3 months and I've had SOME improvement but nothing great despite 100% compliance, no leaks and sleeping through the night. I started at pressure of 4 and am now up to 12 with virtually unchanged AHI. Very interested in what the SS results will be.

With that said, any suggestions on the sleep study? What to expect, how to prep etc? Thanks!

Why don't you download the Sleepyhead Software and show us some data?

Some suggest that there is a "residual" affect to using a cpap machine , therefore it might be idea to not use your machine for a couple of days. That depends on how bad your OSA is ... I don't what you die before the study

You may want to ask for a sleep aid the night of the test.

Don't take any naps the day of the test.
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

Your max pressure is set too low.....your machine is trying yo go higher to stop events, but you have limited it to 13...increase to 15.

i've had issues in the past when my pressure is set far apart like that. It sends pressure pulse is which I believe interfere with me sleeping. I've had much better sleep results with the pressure set in very narrow ranges. What's perplexing to me is why my AHI doesn't seem to change much regardless of pressure.
