Yes, a sentence has a subject.Guest wrote:Shouldn't a sentence at least have a subject?Midnight Strangler wrote:There's none still warm in use here.
Let me help you with this one.
You slept the semester your fifth grade class diagrammed sentences?Subject: none
Verb: is
Adverbs: There, still, here
Preposition: in
Object of preposition: use

Some people need to be hit overhead before they recognize a bat.

Maybe you can tell me what that Mean Strangler "sentence" means?Julie wrote:Some people need to be hit overhead before they recognize a bat.
Re: OT British Teen Wins Right to Be Cryogenically Preserved
You questioned whether the sentence had a subject... it did ('none') but you obviously couldn't recognize it as such so he explained it to you and I acknowledged your apparent ignorance of English.
Re: OT British Teen Wins Right to Be Cryogenically Preserved
And you apparently don't understand English any better. I asked what you thought was meant by the sentence you thought was so clear.Julie wrote:You questioned whether the sentence had a subject... it did ('none') but you obviously couldn't recognize it as such so he explained it to you and I acknowledged your apparent ignorance of English.
Here it is again for your convenience.
Another point is YOU cried like a baby when people were picking on you but reverted back to your old self insulting others. For what to make yourself feel good? Did it help?Midnight Strangler wrote: There's none still warm in use here.
Oh too many questions at once just explain what does this mean?
I'll be waiting.Midnight Strangler wrote: There's none still warm in use here.

You've isolated one sentence and are trying to understand it out of context. That is a sophomoric mistake.Guest wrote:Oh too many questions at once just explain what does this mean?

The sentence is easily understood if you look at the entire short post.
"None" is referring to PailRider's reference to Avi's "incredible intellect". "Still warm" is a play on the subject of cryogenics. Strangler has made a cute sentence which says Avi must have cryogenically stored his intellect for the future because there is no evidence he is using an intellect in this thread.Midnight Strangler wrote:I think Avi already has. There's none still warm in use here.palerider wrote:maybe he'll save his incredible intellect for future generations.
I caught it immediately, but looks like it was difficult for you. Often, if you don't understand a funny quip, you should just move on. "If you has to 'splain 'em ..."

Ya know I never had a formal education beyond the forth grade but those were the best 3yrs of my life. But what I have learned in life is that most people can't communicate much less relate to others. Which from my limited experience normally means they were only (lonely) children and/or mama never taught them any manners. It seems the whole gang is here not only to insult avi but anyone else who posts in this forum.Midnight Strangler wrote:You slept the semester your fifth grade class diagrammed sentences?
And this time granny saves Julie which again shows the bi-polar effect.
I believe that karma is the great equalizer.
