I have a Resmed S9 with humidifier, I am going to be selling. My question is; If I take it to the Post Office in it's carry case, does the Post Office have one of those priority shipping boxes that it fits in?
I figure some of the good people on here have done this before me. And what did it cost, approx.?
Thanks.

Re: Shipping Resmed S9 question
You may review the carton sizes on the USPS web site.
If you can weigh your package, you may be able to estimate the charges,
based on the guidelines listed.

Availability of box: I doubt it See: https://store.usps.com/store/browse/cat ... ewAll=trueCardsfan wrote:I have a Resmed S9 with humidifier, I am going to be selling. Measure the filled case Width, Length, Depth; add 1 inch to each of those dimensions to accommodate bubble wrap, peanuts, etc. for cushioning. Then look at the link above to see if you find one.
As to cost, once you know your final box dimension, weight, and destination ZIP, go to: https://postcalc.usps.com/ to get your price. Most likely, you will be selecting "large package" in section 5.

Re: Shipping Resmed S9 question
There is the "if it fits large flat rate Priority box" no matter what the weight and it's around $18 or $19 to anywhere in the USA.
I don't know if the S9 and it's carrying case will fit though. It's going to be a really tight fit if it fits.
They will have various sizes of Priority boxes behind the counter. Even if you don't do a flat rate box the shipping isn't all that bad even for Priority and will depend on how much insurance you might want to add above the standard $50 that comes with Priority mail.
If you use a regular box of some sort and regular first class mail..it's going to cost about the same though.
Somewhere between $18 and $25 depending on where and how much insurance and the weight.
They will have boxes you can buy or various sizes of Priority boxes that are free and they can even stick a Priority sticker on a regular box...doesn't have to be a Priority box.
The cheapest would likely be the "if it fits it ships flat rate Priority box" because of the weight. I just don't know if it will fit inside that box with the carrying case included.
My suggestion...take it down there to see or go by the Post Office and pick up some free Priority boxes in the large sizes and see which one works the best. The old M series Respironics machines in the carrying case would fit but not the new PR S1 ....I haven't had occasion to mail a S9 in the case to see what works the best.

Re: Shipping Resmed S9 question
you'll need to get a box, make sure the halves are separated and strapped in properly, pack the machine in the box, and weigh it, then go on the postal service web page and punch in the info, you can then pay for shipping, print a label, and have the postman pick it up.

Re: Shipping Resmed S9 question
Thanks everybody. Just got back from the local post office. There is a Priority Mail box that it fits in. The size of the box is 15.5 X 12 X 12.OD (outer dimensions). It lays in there snug, flat. Just have to stuff some newspaper on top to take up the empty space. Yea. Going to be $25-30 depending on where shipped, with insurance.
