Dreamstation Mask Type When Using Quattro Air Mask

Post by burchis » Tue Nov 08, 2016 7:51 am

I am a new CPAP user and have a question about which setting in the Dreamstation APAP setting I should select. The mask that I use is the Quattro Air, a full face type, and is manufactured by Resmed. The instructions for my Dreamstation said the setting number would be on the mask but this is only the case if the mask is made by Phillips which is the maker of the Dreamstation. The setting choice is off and 1-5. I have contacted Resmed and they couldn't give me an answer. I currently have this set to off but as a newbie I am still tying to fine tune everything and wanted to fine the correct adjustment for this mask. Hopefully someone can give me some guidance on this setting.

Doesn't the owners manual tell you what each number(1-5) refers to? One must refer to FF masks.

I have read through the owner manual several times and googled the net for hours but nothing found.

It doesn't seem to matter much...might be better to keep it at off if you are not sure.

The mask resistance setting choices on the Respironics machines aren't for mask type like with the ResMed machines.
Instead it is a "resistance" setting and the only masks with resistance setting available numbers are Respironics masks.
Respironics didn't do resistance settings for other brands.

We are told when using a mask that is made by other brand to just leave the Resistance setting "off" which is 0.
The resistance setting has NOTHING to do with leak calculations so it won't affect any of the "numbers" in that way.
