Re: Sleepy Head Results
The AHI is a little higher than I would be wanting to see. Not horribly high but higher than I would want.
Are you seeing any dense clusters of flagged events? Or all they random and isolated but a lot of them spread out?
The medical community has set the generally accepted stand of less than 5.0 is considered "acceptable" treatment but I prefer less and for sure don't want any dense clusters.
Your pressure is just a little bit sub optimal.
Are you sleeping well and feeling decent? Or Not?

Re: Sleepy Head Results
I am generally tired. I never was prior to using my Cpap. I am debating changing the pressure up to at least 7 or 8. I don't think 6 is cutting it. I am not thrilled with the nasal pillows either. My AHI was higher until I started wearing a chin strap. My doctor won't see me until I have been using this for a month. The first 10 days was pure hell. I slept like an hour at a time. I kept waking up with my mouth open.

I assume you kept waking with air leaking from your mouth?Jasba64 wrote:I am generally tired. I never was prior to using my Cpap. I am debating changing the pressure up to at least 7 or 8. I had that happen a few times but it stopped on its own after the first couple weeks.
You might need to tighten your chin strap alittle more if you can tolerate that.
It can also help to keep your tongue against the roof of your mouth during the day when you think of it, and also
use alittle suction to create a vacuum. That habit can eventually help keep the pressurized air from leaking out while you sleep.
Another suggestion; Take a look at the full face masks on cpap.com or other internet supply stores.
See how they look, read the reviews and ask your DME if you can try another type of mask.
There's lots to choose from.
So if you weren't tired prior to cpap, what made you decide to get a sleep study? Other symptoms of sleep apnea?
What was your AHI prior to starting treatment?
