Compliance Report: New and Clueless

Post by klingon » Fri Oct 28, 2016 4:30 pm

This might be a dumb question, but I'm entirely new to this and I'm trying to understand compliance reports. This is essential because I cannot keep my job without them.

So, I just ordered my first machine, a ResMed Airsense 10, from cpap.com. I understand that it collects usage data on an SD card but that it will also send data to a "My Air" account at ResMed, and we can keep up with it online or IOS.

My Dr. wants a compliance report on the first 10 days of use or I'm out of work. The only information I can find online at ResMed tells me that my Dr. will be able to access my usage data. But how, exactly? His office tells me they do NOT read ResMed cards; nor do they have the ResMed software -- they only deal with Restronic(?). They further said I need to find a ResMed DME to read the SD and print a report. But I ordered my machine through cpap.com, so who is the DME?

OR - Can I produce my own compliance report on the data that is on "My Air" ? Are those acceptable as "official"? I guess what I find strange about that possibility is: doesn't having a patient download data, print it, etc., leave compliance reports open to all sorts of manipulation? I just can't wrap my head around it. Does it work a different way? How exactly can I get data to my doctor if they don't read my SD and don't have the ResMed physicians software?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Get your own ResScan and do your own reports.

Go here and follow the directions...you will need to register and log in to find out all the details.

Unfortunately, I have MACS the software is PC only. I saw Sleepyhead software but that clearly says for information only and not to be used for compliance. Any other ideas?

SleepyHead will supply a report that shows the same usage as ResScan and can be used for compliance.
Same data...I use both with my ResMed machine...SleepyHead gives me exactly the same data as I get with ResScan
but the doctor is probably not going to want to trust software that he is not familiar with. Probably going to be a butthead since you broke with his tradition and got a different brand of machine.

ResScan can be used on a Mac but you have to put some sort of virtual Windows on it....Parallels or Bootcamp. We have people here who have done it.

Unfortunately these are your only options....do you have a friend or someone you know who you could borrow their Windows computer briefly and use ResScan?

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

The DME that supplies the machine to you can access the data remotely using the unique serial number of the machine. This is usually only done if someone asks them to do it - like a doctor's office or regulatory agency. Often, the DME is asked to provide the reports directly to the requesting authority. If this is the case, you shouldn't have to do anything on your end as it will all be done automatically over the 3G phone network.

But the only way to know for certain is the ask the people that are requiring compliance how they want it done.

Can't do that...no DME in this situation

Cpap.com can't do the reports...not part of their job.
