resmed s9 faliure?

Post by john_d » Wed Oct 19, 2016 3:23 am

My father has COPD and has been using a Resmed S9 vpap s machine round the clock for 2 1/2 years.

The machine has done 22,500 hours and has recently started displaying the following message on the LCD, "motor life exceeded contact service provider."

The bipap machine is working well except for the above message.

Does the message indicate a fault indicating blower replacement of would a cleaning of the innards do?

We're unable to contact a service provider.

Please advise.

Thanks.

You need a new machine... cleaning of innards isn't done and probably wouldn't help much in any case... time to shop.

There's an internal clock that pops up the message after so much use. It doesn't mean there is an issue with it. But that's a lot of hours, I'm surprise the blower isn't whining.

WOW...22,500 hours relates to about 8-9 years of use ....it has outlived it's usefulness. Start shopping..

I've been informed that the motor in the Resmed s9 has to be replaced. The replacement will cost approximately $250.

However, I've bought a new machine the Resmed Lumis 150 ST.

Would be grateful a clinicians manual, if anyone has access to it.

Thanks.

I've never heard of it (do you live overseas?). Just Googled and it says it's a ventilator 'for non-dependent patients' - hopefully someone with more knowledge of the type of Vpap it is will come in soon.

Looks like you can request the clinical manual here
