no,it doesn't care if you're alive or not, but if it did, it would tell by watching the variations in flow as you breath.SleepyMcgee wrote:whats it doing see if I'm alive?palerider wrote:because it thinks you're sleeping well.SleepyMcgee wrote:opened up my range a bit based on Dr. recommendation...The minute I do this these pulses come back...Any idea why the machine does this?
allegedly, what it's doing is seeing if your near perfect breathing can be improved by a pressure increase, and finding that it's no better, it drops the pressure back down.
whenever your breathing is less than regular, it won't do the test, which some people say makes sense, however, logically, to me, the time when things aren't perfect would be when the machine should try to make them better....

Seems insane. Can't help but think that these changes disrupt sleep...palerider wrote:no,it doesn't care if you're alive or not, but if it did, it would tell by watching the variations in flow as you breath.SleepyMcgee wrote:whats it doing see if I'm alive?palerider wrote:because it thinks you're sleeping well.SleepyMcgee wrote:opened up my range a bit based on Dr. recommendation...The minute I do this these pulses come back...Any idea why the machine does this?

well, if you buy into the 'pressure changes disrupt sleep' then you should switch to cpap mode.SleepyMcgee wrote:Seems insane. Can't help but think that these changes disrupt sleep...
on the other hand, you could zoom in and examine your breathing patterns when those happen, and see if there's any disturbance.
