Ahh...I see why the doc did the 4 to 12 range. It was to get you in the ball park and make adjustments later if needed.
I think you would do well with a little adjusting but again there's no urgent pressing need to change anything just right this minute.
When you have time could you add your equipment to your profile like I have mine? It helps us help you better if we can see at a glance what your are using. Please use the text option instead of Icony option....saves me a little step when I have to refresh my mind about what equipment you are using.

Have your looked at my Sleepyhead tutorial....top of the Announcements section of the main forum page?
When you have time take a look through all the meanderings and see if a lot of what you see on these reports is explained well enough for you to understand. If something is unclear just ask for clarification.
What mask are you using? The night with the really big amount of leaks...those look like mouth breathing leaks but it wouldn't be impossible for them to be mask movement leaks.
I will accept a small amount of large leak as long as it doesn't wake me up and not worry about the leak line being "perfect" because sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.
2 reports....one with massive large leak and one with large leak that would be acceptable to me as long as it didn't wake me up. You need more nights to see which report you are going to see more often...not so bad big leak or massive big leak.
Any leak that wakes us up is unwanted though...even if it is a tiny leak that doesn't really impact therapy...if it impacts sleep quality then it needs to be fixed.
My own leak graphs aren't always pretty and they are far from perfect but as long as I sleep through them and I don't spend very much time deep in large leak territory then I don't care. I learned a long time ago that trying to get more pretty leak lines meant I had to sacrifice sleep quality and the name of the game is sleeping good...not getting perfect math scores.

Re: SleepyHead questions
he made them up. without a titration study, that's all that can be done... guess. ass numbers, because that's where they came from.Downtwoner wrote:I see my sleep doctor on 10/31. I only had a simple home sleep study. There was no titration study. Until 10/31, I won't know how he came up with the pressure numbers.
actually, you need to get your pressures set right *first*, because if your pressure is wrong, you're not going to have successful therapy... or perhaps you mean something different by "get comfortable with".Downtwoner wrote:I gather from looking around here that I can do my own titration easily enough. But I'm sure I have to get comfortable with cpap therapy first. The fact that my AHI's are lowish, even if not fully accurate, eases my anxiety about the pressure setting. So I'll take your advice and give it a little time.
