?difference between Resmed S9 Autoset/S9 Escape Auto

I have found a *gently used* (low hours) Resmed S9. That's all it says, Resmed S9.

looked online and there are lots of different S9 machines!!!

I have yet to get the model number, waiting for an email response.

S9 models in the cpap/apap line

S9 Escape.....avoid ...no useful data at all
S9 Escape Auto...avoid...while it does offer a generic AHI (no breakdown into each category) that is all it offers and the working algorithm is the "old" algorithm

Full data S9 cpap/apap
S9 Elite....fixed cpap mode only
S9 AutoSet (and the pink AutoSet for Her)...has both cpap mode and apap mode.

For what you are wanting to do the AutoSet would be your best choice but it could be done with the Elite (take a little more time and work).
ResMed machines have the model name clearly stuck on the face of the machine so you are less likely to have to go the model number route if you have a nice clear picture of the top of the machine.

I knew I should have come here first.

Spent hours looking online trying to make comparisons of the different models,
now I have a headache!!!

If the seller will provide clear pictures of the top of the blower half of the S9, you will see a word printed above the knob on the upper left. If is says "escape," so should you - very minimal data to assist you. If it says "Elite," it is a fully data-capable single pressure CPAP and very well respected; if "AutoSet," it is a fully data-capable APAP and by all accounts, an excellent machine with many comfort and performance features. I have one that I no longer use but has served me well - I replaced it with an AirSense 10 Auto; in terms of ease of use and comfort I find them both very similar. The AS10 has a significantly smaller footprint, but the S9 is perhaps a bit more flexible in being able to shed the humidifier if you wish.

Have you asked what "gently used (low hours) means? Ask what the run hours shown on the screen shows.

I was looking at the cpap assistance program offered by the American Sleep Apnea Association, they confirmed it is a S9 autoset, so for $100 *donation* I got it, humidifer, filters, memory card, tubing and Quattro FX mask.

Hope I did ok???

I definitely did not want the S8 (with no humidifier).

the autoset is fine, as long as it says "autoset" not "escape auto"

S9 Autoset great machine. You can even spruce it up with Skinit stickers. Mine is covered with Texas A&M to remind me everyday where my money went...LOL

Not long ago I was looking at the skin it website and all I could find was the ability to customize a skin for the S9.
They used to have a large inventory to choose from but all I could find recently was the "make your own" which was/is a little more costly than the regular ones.

but, the cool thing is that you can put *anything* on there

I did one for a friend that loves bunnies, so he's got bunnies on his, and did another for another friend that has tigers.

if I decide to decorate mine, it will probably be stickers from the dollar store
