Surgery for Sleep Apnea in State College Pa.

Post by Colston » Wed Jul 19, 2006 2:01 pm

I was quite fortunate to discover a doctor in State College
Pa. who does special surgery for this condition.

He is one of only eleven doctors in the USA who does so.

My prior specialist said I was not a candidate for surgery
since I had a particularly bad case (65 stoppages of breathing
each hour).

Be sure your tonsils and adenoids have been removed,
they can contribute to your Apnea.

have you been tested with a PSG since your surgery to show clinical improvement?

if not, you may be surprised with the findings. Most OSA is caused by your tongue falling into the back of the throat. When they remove your tonsils and adenoids via surgery that just makes the hole where the tongue lands larger.

it is the very reason UPPP surgery is not very effective for most.
