No more SleepWeaver Masks???

Post by bwexler » Thu Sep 08, 2016 4:47 pm

I called my favorite DME, Lifecare, today to place an order for mask and filters.
They informed me that SleepWeaver masks had been discontinued.
So I called Circadiance and they were gone for the day.
So I called CPAP and asked them. The rep said I was the third person who said SleepWeaver had been discontinued, but they had not heard anything official and still have plenty inventory.

Does anyone know if it will be dark outside at midnight tonight?

Has anyone heard anything about SleepWeaver masks being discontinued? It does seem odd that they didn't even allow me to specify which model of the SleepWeaver I was concerned about.

You may soon have a new favorite DME.

Lifecare is my favorite this year because my Medicare Advantage plan says they are.
I have yet to receive anything from them, other than a hard time.
Thankfully my needs are not urgent.
I can always order from CPAP and avoid the hassle.

Check out some of the links.

https://www.google.com/search?q=SleepWe ... 8&oe=utf-8

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/single ... -mask.html

The going (sale) price at CPAP.COM is only a little more than what I pay for my mask seals/cushions.
Good time to snap up a bunch of them.

I agree with the frog. Maybe time to find a new DME. Or, at least challenge them on what they told you, backed up by some easily-obtainable evidence.

Call Medicare, and tell them what you told us.
You may be able to pressure your current DME to special order Sleepweaver for you;
but you may need a specific rx from your doctor.

Circadiance should be open now. Call them and find out. If this is untrue, talk to a higher up at Circadiance about your DME.

Circadiance may be able to take legal action against the DME for spreading untrue rumors that interfere with Circadiance's ability to do business.

Otoh, if it's true, you'll want to stock up.

I am in California so I am not open as early as Circadiance. I will be calling them soon, if they don't return my call first.
I like your ideas about rocking the boat. It's what I do when I have time and more than fifty cents at stake.

I tired this mask once. It seemed like a good mask, but it didn't work for me.

You need to use the mask that's best FOR YOU!

I fully agree with you, my best mask may be your worst.

I have been using the SleepWeaver masks for 5 years on and off. I have all 4 models they have offered.
The Anew full face was OK on APAP but leaked to much with my higher pressure on ASV.
The Élan is my number one go to mask, the Wisp is my backup which I have had for a couple years.
When I need a FFM I have F&P 431 that hooks under my chin. I haven't found a FFM I really like but when I get a stuffy nose I go to my F&P.
One day I plan to try the Amara View just to see if it is better than the F&P.

Now that I have talked with Circadiance and confirmed that SleepWeaver masks are still available, I called and spoke with Tony who claims to be president of Lifecare Solutions. He offered the fact that they generally Cary 2 brands and Circadiance isn't one of them.
I explained why SleepWeaver is the only mask I am interested in.
He said he would look into it and call me back.

So, those who like SleepWeaver masks have nothing to worry about.
Those who are stuck with Lifecare Solutions may have something to look forward to.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I also love Sleepweaver masks and just buy them out of pocket. I can get them directly from my Lincare office, not from their warehouse. I used to have to drive there for that, but they will ship to me now since I'm getting other supplies from them as well.

Sleepweaver is my alternative mask when I can't use pillows due to sinus problems. Very gentle. Blows air in my eyes sometimes though, which is the only reason why I don't use them full time.

Good evening everyone:

Contrary to some rumors, SleepWeaver Masks are not discontinued. In fact, our business is better than ever and we are really pleased to be able to provide you with the Soft, Quiet Comfort of the SleepWeaver Soft Cloth CPAP Masks. Due to recent cuts in reimbursement by Medicare, some home care companies have chosen to reduce the number of brands of CPAP masks that they carry. And in some cases, they have chosen not to carry SleepWeaver. If your DME tells you that it has been discontinued or that they cannot buy it, you should dispute that claim. Circadiance is pleased to supply our masks to any home care company who asks. The home care company may say that our masks are not reimbursed. This is also false. Our masks are reimbursed at the same rate as all other CPAP masks. So if your home care company tells you that they cannot get SleepWeaver Masks, it is because they have decided to restrict your choice in masks.

If this happens to you, you can do the following:
· You should dispute their false claims and insist that they get you a SleepWeaver Mask. You as the patient have the right to insist you get what you want and you should exercise that right.
· If the Home Care Company refuses to give you satisfaction, contact Circadiance with the name and address of the DME. We will contact them and see if we can help work out a solution. If this still does not work, Circadiance can give you the name and address of another DME in your area that does carry SleepWeaver. You can also see our dealer locator at http://www.circadiance.com/order/dealer-locator/
· If you want to “rock the boat”, you can contact the Medicare Ombudsman at https://www.medicare.gov/claims-and-app ... dsman.html and give them your complaint.
Look for Circadiance to continue to innovate to provide the softest, lightest, most comfortable CPAP masks available

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns by sending us an email at marketing@circadiance.com or by calling us toll-free at 1-888-825-9640.

Additionally, you may join our Facebook community of SleepWeaver Believers https://www.facebook.com/sleepweaver.

Sincerely,

Circadiance Marketing
