meaning & significance of parenthetical numbers in SH
meaning & significance of parenthetical numbers in SH
When looking at my SleepyHead reports I have noted numerical information in parentheses (both in the events tab and when hovering the mouse over a flag in the charts). It appears these numbers can either be a constant or fluctuating value. My initial thought was that they indicated the duration of the event indicated; however, I don't see quite how that can be. i.e. the value in parentheses for RERA is always zero and that for hypopnea is always 10 (in my case). If not duration - the one for large leak definitely is duration - what do the numbers indicate and are they of significance in evaluating the night's pattern?

Re: meaning & significance of parenthetical numbers in SH
For the numbers in parentheses by the apnea event...OA, CA/Central, Hyponea from a ResMed machine that is duration of the event in seconds.
ResMed machines measure event duration and you would see the same with ResMed's ResScan software.
Respironics machines don't measure event duration but those numbers are very close to what the event duration would be if we manually measured the reduced flow rate time frame. It's close but not 100% spot on accurate but close enough for government work as they say. Usually only maybe 2 or 3 seconds one way or the other.
Since you are showing a ResMed machine in your equipment profile then we know it definitely is duration of events in seconds.
10 seconds is the minimum duration to earn any apnea flag.
If all you ever see is 10 seconds they are fairly brief.
RERA value ...I think that just denotes that a RERA happened at that time if you are seeing a flag for RERA on the Events graph. I don't think it measures how long. That value isn't ever made clear.
I thought only the "for Her" AutoSets flag RERAs...are you seeing an actual flagged RERA on the Events graph?
The significance of any of these would depend on how many you are having and how long they are lasting. A random anything doesn't really have much significance. Now if you are having a large number of some sort of event or they are coming in dense clusters then it could mean sub optimal therapy depending on what type of event is getting flagged. If the flagged event was unusually long it could also mean some sub optimal therapy.
An occasional rare, random event doesn't really mean much unless maybe you are waking up when they happen.
