Oh, but I have. And I also have lots and lots of saved documents about them. They've been around for quite a few years.

Let's see.........

What part of "They've been around for quite a few years." did you not understand?
The Respironics numbers are also from around that era.

I prefer (whenever possible) to use the words of others......because if it actually came out of me, you'd find something wrong with that, too.

So far, I haven't found any of YOUR (helpful) quotes about how they work.....only criticisms about what others say.

except for you and your desperate arguing, ASVs haven't been mentioned in this thread, nor are they relevant in any way.

in your dotage, you're welcome to call me a troll because I call you out when you're wrong, but now you're arguing with *PUGSY* of all people, because you said something stupid and aren't man enough to own up to your mistake.

Den,
Here's an example of how quickly the ASV gives that burst of pressure and returns to normal.
IPAP is what changes. In this case you can see that it happens very quickly.
Starts around 3:11:50 and goes up and is back to what it was before by probably 3:12:15
so the whole thing happens over about 25 seconds. It's hard to get exact second count...I think each hash mark is 2 seconds.
It's flagged as a UA because the ResMed machine just says it's an apnea and SleepyHead uses the "unknown" thing for the the ResMed ASV "apneas" because it doesn't distinguish between central or obstructive with this machine.

You really should quit while you're so far behind.
From the first page......

My apologies for not quoting the WHOLE post, but I think it already has been and should be easy enough to find.

Thanks, Pugsy.
I appreciate the "visual".
That was about how I understood they worked from what I've read.

you should include the mask pressure trace for that example. that shows the asv in action.

you're the rabid nutjob that insists on complete posts.

you're quite right, Pugsy did mention an asv as a possible solution *TO THE CENTRALS*.

doesn't have anything to do with your bad advice, and typical trying to cloud the water afterwards.
