Good to See Old Friends are Still Here

Post by bearcatx16 » Sat Aug 27, 2016 7:38 am

I had some spare time this morning and was needing a S/W link so I dropped in to get the update. I read a few quick posts and it wasn't long before I had a smile on my face. After being gone for such a long time I thought I wouldn't see anyone I recognized. I was wrong on that count. LSat; chunkyfrog; Wulfman; and I found that goofproof was still jolly ole goofproof . I hope with more frequent visits I'll seem more familiar names.

The very best to all the old timers and to the new/beginners on CPAP stick with it you will not regret it. I have been on the hose for 9 years now and due to good sleep I don't want to stop.

Welcome back bearcatx. It's great that the Goodman's, our forum sponsors, don't purge the older members from the site for inactivity. It's always cool to see them come back to say hi and catch up on their lives.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Glad to see you back, yes, many of us are still here, for better or worse, it must be a sign XPAP works, if you take the effort. Jim

Glad to see you drop in again. Please don't stay away so long.
There are a few more "regulars" here from the early days and occasionally some of the others drop in to visit, too.
It's always good to see them visit and know they're still doing well.

Take care.

Still around, also!

Just been going crazy (going?) with my special lifestyle.

Mistress Sunny Longhair Dachshund left us in 2012 at the age of 14 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Her litter sib, Mr. Shadow, left us last year in 2015, at the age of 17 years, 6 months, and 19 days. He stayed long enough to train his successor properly, the black and tan longhaired Dachshund we call the Master Harper.

Sunny did not quite make it to the happy day I was declared cancer-free in 2013. Shadow did, though. He also took over the job of training his successor.

Master Harper is a show dog and a performance dog. He achieved his AKC Championship in August of 2015, and his Barn Hunt Master title in June of 2016. He's also a third of the way to his Grand Championship.

Miss Babette Beagle, who found us in 2009 (and scared the bejaysus out of me by attempting to steal my CPAP mask, something Shadow thwarted) is also still around and is sort-of doing Barn Hunt. Sort-of in that she knows darned well where the rat is, but she won't tell me. But she has a good time. She has her own fan club of people who gather to watch her run because she just has so much FUN, even when she doesn't qualify.

And I'm looking at the possibility of becoming a Barn Hunt Judge.

None of which would be possible without the energy I get from good CPAP-assisted nights of sleep.

Love to see familiar "faces" drop in. Kiralynx, Good to hear you're doing well. Have you taken that Alaskan train ride yet?

Not yet -- it was Canadian. The summer I was declared cancer free was the summer they had major flooding up there, and the trains weren't going to the very area I wanted to see. The following summer, it was obvious that Shadow was too old to be boarded. I wouldn't have enjoyed the trip for worrying about him.

And now my Dad is 92 and would stress about us not being around. Dad just gave up driving this spring and is feeling the loss of his independence. I went up to a Barn Hunt Easter weekend and he was al upset about it. So we're holding off.

Gotta go finish baking my lentil crisps for the Barn Hunt this weekend!
