Toddler on cpap

And yes, sometimes people can be harsh on this forum. I'm not sure why, but don't let it throw you. It's good to tell them when they are being harsh, as you did, since I don't think that people always realize that they are doing it. But you are right, no one needs judgement or harshness. We are all trying our best in tough situations.

Agree with this! Depending on the mask, it can feel like you can't breathe well at all without the air coming from the machine. Most masks I've used are like that. They do have some safety feature to allow you to get air if the power goes out or machine shuts off in the night, but definitely not like you're breathing normally, it's a struggle to breathe through them with no air. Tell the doctors that it's not successful with mask alone and you want to try with a machine blowing air. I don't know if you have a full face mask but try that because when I first started CPAP the nasal mask completely freaked me out and I couldn't use it. The full face mask was much more comfortable. Of course he may be the opposite but I'm just saying you have to experiment. There's only so much help we can give here. Many of us have gone through mask after mask and other struggles and we aren't toddlers with autism so you've got your work cut out for you. I truly hope you find something that works for him asap. At least some of his problems may be related to never reaching REM sleep. It's so important.

Now, he is not a toddler. I imagine this would be much more difficult with a toddler.
