Obviously a joke, not a serious proposal, and that is how the crowd behind him seemed to take it. I expect Trump to react with the show of wounded innocence in the style of someone who has just delivered a dirty double entendre. "What did I say?" Still, it is alarming to think of any presidential candidate joking about altering the outcome of an election with lethal violence. For all we know Henry II was just making a little joke. I doubt Trump drops out, but this will provoke an outcry (not that it will last long) and give a few more wavering Republican politicians and pundits an excuse to distance themselves.
I don't see a problem or any reason for him to back away from it.
The 2nd Amendment was put there for a VERY good reason and it protects all the others and the Constitution as a whole.......from tyranny.

Hillary's staff attempting to SPIN the statements to their benefit.......

Den

Den,

If a Democrat had made a similar type comment to what Trump said, you would be screaming bloody murder.

49er
Believe me......I've been screaming "bloody murder" at the lies the Dems and the lamestream media have been spewing.
The media is totally "in the bag" for Hillary and they make no bones about it.
Even when they call her out on the lies she told to Chris Wallace about what Comey said, it doesn't stay in the news for long.

And some people wonder why the Congress and the media are despised so much.........
They're all afraid of having the curtain pulled back (like in the Wizard of Oz) and being exposed for being the scumbags that they are.
Again, these are precisely the reasons the founding fathers put the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights.
Why do you think that BHO has been the biggest reason that the firearms sales have gone through the roof in the last 7 years? He's been the best firearms salesman.......EVER!
We just hope it'll never come to that.

Den

.
Den,

Democrats have made the same complaints about the media in the past regarding Republicans getting a free pass so it is all perspective, right?:)

As a Trump supporter, I am disappointed in his seemed inability to control comments like this; however I find it less disturbing than listening to Hillary lie three times last week about what the FBI director said about her email server when the truth is available for anyone to view on the FBI.Gov website

https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press ... ail-system

This doesn't even take into account when he was questioned directly about things she said he stated they were false.

I have, however written Trump and said I work too hard for my money to give it to someone who will throw it away like he is. Almost makes you think the whole thing was a plan to get Hillary elected
Really Flightco, comparing the situation with the emails to what sounds like an assassination threat by Trump? Shaking my head.

49er, sometimes you sound like a person who puts so much thought into what you say, then you spew talking points. We all know Trump was trying to be funny, stupid joke, you bet and not his first but I really wish it would be his last. Oh yes, the Dems will continue to say he was suggesting an assassination because it makes such a juicy talking point. I consider Hillarys emails to be very serious. A spy for the US was just put to death in Iran for being a spy for the US and talk of this was found in HRC's emails. I am not suggesting, like dems would if this were trump, that the guy was killed because HRC wrote about him in emails sent from an unsecured server but it goes right to Comey's comments about her quote "Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.' You act like this does not matter, perhaps Trumps temperament leaves something to be desired (it does) but HRCs judgment and carelessness with classified (including top secret) information is a big issue to me. Her lying about it last week 3 times like the sheeple will just take whatever she says as the truth, bothers me, a lot. Her lying to the American people and the families of those dead in Benghazi about it being over a silly video when she was emailing her daughter and telling her it was a terror attack, I guess all of this is just fine if you are a democrat.

Not that I'm aware of. The vast majority of the media is "liberal" (left) and consider it to be their duty to take out those on the right or conservative.

We need a runoff system - if no candidate gets a majority on the first vote, then the two candidates with the largest number of votes are in a runoff.

This would allow people to vote for third party candidates without fear they are interfering with "lesser of two evils" votes.

But, R&D will never allow this change.

True, nothing will get better until the people liberate themselves from the MSM propaganda programming that they only have a choice between A or B, DEM or GOP. People are programmed to think that the election process is like a football game where people are expected to choose a team and become team players by voting for their candidate(s). Lost is the idea that the election process is an expression of the people's own desired future. Instead the corporate interests present a two puppet system (more than two becomes too expensive for them) and the game is presented such that the net outcome is always in their favor.

Sounds like the presidential candidates need more sleep, maybe a cpap for each if them is in order.

This election is all about the Supreme Court. I'm voting for a conservative Supreme Court no matter what.

If Trump Wins, his craziness will be tempered by the legislature. If Hillary wins we get a liberal Supreme Court, Gun confiscation and my taxes go up even more.

If either win the country's divide widens. I've not heard either nominee speak of how they would bring the country together though the Dem's think that "them" must come over to the "us" because it is the correct side. People cant seem to understand each side has an "us and them".
