No, the instructions don't say that. They say to have your mouth slightly open when fitting the mask.

If you can sleep most of the night with your mouth closed, CPAP will work better, and it is healthier to breathe through the nose.
Very interesting. Thanks, I am going to try that. I am also training myself to breath more through my nose.

I struggled for weeks with my Amara View, with some serious leaks. Then I watched videos and and realised I had the head straps totally wrong. I was placing the crown strap right at the top of my head. Duh!! Very uncomfortable and extremely hard to get a good seal that way. Newbie mistake!
