AirSense 10 Autoset for her beeping like crazy

Post by sleepychar » Thu Jul 21, 2016 5:56 am

My CPAP machine is beeping VERY loud beeps and I can't get it to stop. I can't find anything in the manual about beeping. I have even unplugged it from the electric socket. It is so loud I thought it was the smoke detector in my house. I can't find any information in the manual about why the machine might beep. This happened after I woke up, turned the machine off and then turned it back on again so it could transmit data. It's only just before 5 a.m. here in Tucson and I am still trying to figure out who to call for help/advice - so here I am again asking you guys...

Get a bigger hammer.

If it is still doing the beeping it needs to be returned to whomever you got it from.
That's not a normal sound at all that I can think of as being something common and easy to fix.

Thanks for your response... I can't believe there is nothing in the user guide about a loud beeping sound... my DME supplier doesn't open until 9 a.m. and Resmed company isn't awake yet either...

OMG - I'm an idiot!!!! It wasn't the machine at all - it was my alarm clock!!!!! Duhhhh!!!! I usually wake up before my alarm clock goes off and turn it off - but I am a little disoriented with this new CPAP stuff and my whole routine is kind of upset now and I forgot to turn the alarm off - and the CPAP being new, and right on the lower nightstand shelf underneath the alarm clock, it sounded like it was coming from the CPAP machine - well, I guess this will be one for the CPAP funny stories book (once I stop being totally embarrassed!)...

At least you found out before you called the DME and took in a perfectly good machine that wouldn't be beeping in their office and they thought you were a crazy woman hearing things.

Bet you won't make that mistake again for a long long time. That's the way I am when I do something like that.

I was going to say that if it's still beeping after you unplugged it, then it's something else beeping...

I know... I wasn't thinking straight. It did occur to me that the beeping should have stopped once the machine was unplugged - I checked the smoke and CO detectors and it wasn't one of them and it really did sound like it was coming from the machine. The radio/alarm clock was on the top of the nightstand right directly above the CPAP machine. I was getting ready to put the CPAP machine outside in case it might explode. I thought if the beeping wasn't stopping when it was unplugged, it must be something REALLY bad... Then I realized it was the alarm clock! Oh well... sigh...

turned the machine off and then turned it back on again so it could transmit data.
I'm not sure what you mean. The uploading of the night's data happens automatically and, as far as I know, you have no control over when it will happen. When it is time to upload, it will upload whether the machine is on or off, as long as it is plugged in.

For future reference, if the cpap machine has an error it will usually display some kind of error message flashing on and off on the display.

I hope you don't let your smoke detector batteries get too low!

I didn't know the CPAP machine would send the report if it were turned off while plugged in. I thought it had to be turned on... Thanks for that info. I'm learning something new every day!
