Thank you. I was able to change the settings. So, it will start at 6. I left the ramp time at 30.
I had wondered what EPR stood for. Now.I see why at times it feels.like I am getting no pressure unless I inhale... All of this is new to me. Despite having asked many questions to the doctor and technicians, I see there is so much I still do not know. I am very pleased that I stumbled upon this site.
I
strongly suggest you pop over to apneaboard, look at the top of their page, and follow the instructions to download a copy of the secret manual for the machine.... I don't tell people how to get into the menu, I tell them how to get the manual, so they can learn what all the stuff means.

no, you can't.
Thank you. I checked out the other site and I learned a lot. I did not download any manual. I will check out the user's manual that I have.
I have to use SleepyHead. Once again, my sleep "score" was pretty good (96%) on the myAir site. It said I removed my mask only once -- I remember taking it off at least twice (before I fell asleep and once before I decided to turn the machine off). My AHI was 1. It seems that I slept all night; yet I am still exhausted and I have large circles around my eyes. I am a bit confused. I will check with my doctor.

MyAir is junk... and sticking to the 'user' manual won't get you far.

I am new to all of this. I am doing a lot of reading but I would appreciate it if you can expound on your comment. Is MyAir "junk" because the information is not detailed enough or does it provide incorrect information?
What will the other manual provide.
Thank you!

There are 2 manuals that come with these machines. One is the user manual and the other is the clinician/provider manual which normally gets removed prior to giving the equipment to the patient.
In the provider manual you will find more details on how to make changes to the settings and more detailed explanation as to what the various settings and features of the machine mean.

MyAir level of detail is minimal. I suppose it is sufficient if everything is going well...and you are sleeping great and feeling great and leaks are minimal. If you are having problems there's not much available to tell you what needs fixing unless it's something blatant like massive leaks or really high AHI.
So the data it provides is accurate but minimal in terms of details.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Thank you, Pugsey. I don't believe that MyAir provides accurate data. The report this morning gave a score for "mask seal" as 5/5, meaning minimal if any leakage. However, I kept waking up at night to fix the mask because it was leaking by my eyes and on the side of my mouth. At one point I pushed my face into my pillow to minimize the leaks. I don't believe that worked.... So, I don't know how much to trust MyAir.

MyAir is reporting what it is getting from the machine but how leaks are reported with the ResMed machines needs to be understood. First of all unless leaks are into large leak territory for 30% of the night the machine will give you a good score for the night. Those quick re-adjustment of the mask leaks probably don't add up to very much time in large leak so the machine says leaks aren't much of a problem.
It's not so much not trusting MyAir as it is understanding what is being reported and how the machine gathers the data and reports it.
MyAir is useful for quick "how did I do last night overall" but useless for detailed information.
