Wi-fi and Bluetooth (hence my avatar) *smile*
Hubby's apap is scheduled for delivery today.
(PR System One REMStar 60 series Auto CPAP w/Bluetooth)
I read on the internet, that Wi-fi and Bluetooth signals together could possibly cause problems.
We both have android phones. I currently do not use Bluetooth, hubby only uses his at work.
We have several Wifi devices, laptop, keyboard, mouse, smartTV (Roku) in the bedroom. Currently there are no Bluetooth devices connected.
Should I be concerned about using the Bluetooth feature on the apap? Will it knock out the Wifi??? Possible interference??

The cpap machine does not have wifi. Some machines, like the resmed airsense 10, have 3G capability to upload the data to resmed but it uses the cellular phone network, not wifi. The machine you specified does not have this. The only way to get the data off the machine is to remove the memory card and load the data onto a computer using a built-in or add-on card reader.
Bluetooth is for connection to nearby bluetooth devices and requires that the devices be "paired" so that only the paired devices connect to each other. The intention is that you pair the cpap with your phone in order to view the summary data from the cpap on your phone. This only provides a very high level overview of stuff like AHI, leak, hours of use, etc.
There are no interference or "knocking out" issues to be concerned with.

My wine and I have three Wifi devices each (IPAD, IPhone, laptop) as well as a smart TV, receiver and FireStick (all Wifi) and a few bluetooth devices (printer, speaker, headsets) and have had no difficulty with their interoperability. Now....saying that....Wifi and some wireless (non cell) phones will walk on each other with generally the wifi losing the battle.
Cheers.

Now, as for that aluminum foil hat in your avatar... very fetching, plus it keeps Pugsy's pesky aliens at bay.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I have considered wrapping my smart key in foil to prevent car thieves from reading the RFID.
of course, I would have to unwrap it every time I use it.

Once when my neighbors were stealing my WIFI signal from my house (I had an old WEP protected WIFI router), I built a barrier of aluminum foil and cardboard to try to block the signal towards their house. Nothing seemed to work short of a panel of lead, so I spent the money and got a WPA protected router, back then state of the art. That worked for awhile and then the neighbors (alll graduate computer students up at UCSC) managed to crack that. Sidenote: They must have been doing their PHD dissertation on defeating my WIFI protection. Anyway, one afternoon I went over to their rental home and told them I had called the police and that the police were getting a search warrant to rip thru their house/computers (not true at all ) The problem went away and hasn't come back in the last ten years. Moral of the tale: Sometimes the aggressive direct approach is the best approach.chunkyfrog wrote:I have considered wrapping my smart key in foil to prevent car thieves from reading the RFID.

Bad news for you:
Your wireless mouse and keyboard are likely using Bluetooth, Zigbee or some proprietary protocol.
Wi-fi and Bluetooth use the same 2.4 GHz ISM band.
One protocol over another doesn't make the signal any more or less dangerous. It is still operating under the same frequency.

Thank you, I learned something new today. The mouse is Bluetrace, and the keyboard has a nano receiver.
"doesn't make the signal any more or less dangerous"
The pic made me smile, we are GOT fans, and I love Jon Snow, the tin foil hat stays (for now anyway)
Now I'm trying to decide whether to get a Flashair card for the apap, or a Bluetooth usb thingy for my laptop (it doesn't have BT)

What will do your WiFi in is a bad card in one of your devices. My daughter had that happen last month. Four technicians, a new router and someone finally suggested she check her computers. One had a bad card. Once it was replaced WiFi was back and working all over the house.
Another thing is a old micro wave running near you or between you and the router.

No, it is a Toyota Smart key--essentially a fob, too fat for a cc sleeve.ger365 wrote: . . .
