HC 150 Humidifier, Water Bowl bottom repair

Post by jhenry » Sun Jan 30, 2005 8:38 am

I have constant problems with the bottom of my heated humidifier water chamber springing leaks via pin holes from corrosion.

Is there a safe way to patch this aluminum bottom so you don't put toxic fumes in your lungs from the patching material?

Thanks

jhenry,

Try a product called JBweld. But if your chamber bottom is so corroded that you get pin holes it may be time to replace it. You can buy just the chamber.

Wow . For $15 thats a no brainer . Id just get the new chamber. Funny the chamber is $15 but the little elbow or seal on a mask is $30. Go figure.

I don't know about anyone else but I could easily spend a lot more than $15 on glue and assorted supplies and still wind up with an old corroded container that smells bad and stilll leaks. Buy the new one and then only fill it with distilled water.
