water in ear canals

Post by Billcass » Sat May 07, 2016 9:57 am

I recently started CPAP use and began to notice water in my ear canals and hearing difficulties. At times I wake up at night with the machine blowing madly in my mouth and nose and recently noticed puffy jowls.
Has anyone else noticed these issues? I would welcome any comments or suggestions on this issue.

What pressures are you using?

Could it be sounds - not actual liquid in your ear caused by pressure in the Eustachian canal? I get it sometimes with allergies.

Without knowing what machine, what mask and your pressures it is really hard to help.

Make an appointment with your ENT. CPAP can sometime cause a problem or exacerbate a problem already there. Also, sometimes you can have the strap on so tight that it prevents the lymph nodes from draining properly causing swelling under the ear which can have a similar result.
