Any recommendations? I'm looking at getting the Yeti 400. I've calculated that I'll need at least 140 Wh, and the Yeti 400 has a very comfy 400 Wh. There is also the Pilot-12 on Amazon.com, which sounds like exactly what I need. However, not being able to run a humidifier might be a dealbreaker, and I'm worried about power consumption with the humidifier + longer than expected use.
I have a DeVilbiss CPAP.
Best battery for taking a CPAP camping
Re: Best battery for taking a CPAP camping
It would help a lot if you described your situation - how many nights? are you hiking in, climbing a mountain, or car camping? can you recharge? do you need humidity? etc.debian_guy wrote:Any recommendations? If you're considering a 30 pound power pack I'll assume you're car camping. Nothing wrong with the Yeti, other than it cost $400 and you can get the battery inside of it (a 35 AH AGM, probably size U1) for about $65. Add in a Battery Tender charger and a few cables and you're at between $120 and $150 depending on how fancy you want to get. You can add USB chargers, etc for only a few bucks. If you really want to spend more money it would be better spent on a backup/travel cpap which can be had for $300 to $400.
The Pilot-12 is also nice if you want the light weight of Lithium but costs more than double the cost of the competition.
EDIT: link to thread describing my setup - same power, high quality, a third the price.
