I talked to cpapforseniors a couple of minutes ago and she asked a couple questions that I found very good.
1. was I having trouble exhaleing.
2. did I try using or do I use my Ramp feature.

We talked for a few moments and I kinda agree with here that if I want to spend the extra money than do so.

My advise roadwarrior just get a regular remstar plus without c-flex and save a couple of hundred bucks.

Too late, Patrick.

He already got the Remstar Auto with cflex, and loves it.

[quote="kteague"]Ditto what Bonnie said about titration concerns as well as the others who have weighed in. My cpap was set at 10 since I got it last fall. Still felt bad and would wake up feeling smothered. Recent apap trial revealed my pressure needed to be set at 13. I just purchased a barely used machine from someone on this forum - it is a Resmed Auto Spirit with heated humidifier and AutoScan software. It came in all of its original boxes with all the manuals at a price I could better afford. The main reason I wanted a machine with data I could access is because I now am uninsured and won't be able to pay for sleep studies every time I feel like the therapy may not be effective. And, I can always set it to cpap mode if I want. I just like having the option, and feel it has helped my compliance for the pressure to be lower at least part of the time. Don't bet much on your pressure setting of 9 to be effective at all times no matter what the variables. Good luck with your search for "the one".
