Resmed DC12 adapter

Post by zoran » Mon Apr 18, 2016 9:31 pm

Hi eveyrone

Can I plug the dc12 power adaptor that I use with my battery straight into a wall socket and then into my machine?

The machine is on the blink when using the regular power cord but if I power the machine with the DC12 adaptor, it works fine.

Im currently using a battery source but would prefer to plug the adaptor into the wall but Im worried I might blow something up

NO!

If you do that, you will certainly "blow something up".

A DC-12 will only work with a nominal 12V DC or nominal 24V DC power source, such as a battery.

As mentioned, this is designed only for a 12V input. I believe it has a fuse in the tip that might protect it (and you) but I wouldn't count on it. It is possible to get an inexpensive (under $20 at Radio Shack?) 120AC to 12V "brick transformer" with a cigarette style socket that you could use with the converter if you lost your regular ResMed brick. Depending on your gear, you may be able to simultaneously charge and use your battery, having, in effect, an Uninterruptable Power Supply.

I have some original Resmed S9 power bricks $45.00 shipped to you.
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!
