6-9 resmed 10 autoset setting

Post by safercyber » Fri Apr 08, 2016 7:57 am

Just received my trial machine. I see my sleep therapist set it to a 6-9 setting with auto humidity. I have not yet delved in to tons of great info on this site yet but would like to know from those here what a setting of 6-9 might mean regarding my apena, IE mild, moderate ect. I didn't have a chance to ask the clinic.

Cheers

The severity of your apnea has nothing to do with your pressure settings on the machine. Those are about how much pressure is needed to keep your particular airway open - which is what the titration part of a sleep study's about. You may have very severe apnea - lots of events/hr, but only need low settings to keep your airway open, and someone else with mild apnea might need a high setting for their airway.
