Airhead's Modeling Debut

Meet Airhead. Airhead is modeling my deconstructed Holey Cap headgear (SleepNet) that has had new velcro straps added in the correct position for my FlexiFit nasal mask. I've also sewn in a velstretch strap than functions as a chinstrap.

The reconstructed cap stays in place well and the chinstrap functions quite well. I keep it comfortably snug. The cap and all it's straps have not bothered me in the heat so far. The URL's to Flickr have a few more comments as well as a photo of some carpentry clamps I added velco ties to for tubing management. It takes a bit of sewing-and I'm not interested in going into the headgear business so I am sending photos and instructions to padacheek. If you are interested-maybe she would make some-she could probably improve on my design.

And since velcro will stick anywhere to the cap there is a piece of velstretch that can go around the front of the mask in the manner of your stretch tights-it puts pressure at the mipoint of the mask "frame" to stop leaks-and the ends stick to the cap.

Krousseu-That should go into the cpap Hall of Fame as the most progressive mask/cap ever made!! I love it! I'll bet it would protect you if you fell out of bed, also. That's just my sense of humor, no dig intended. How in the world did you come up with that? Maybe you need to see if there's a market for it!

Not sure about protection from blunt trauma-but it will keep your head warmer in winter. And you can also velcro a small earphone to it.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and excited to see people talking about the biggest problem with CPAP equipment, the headgear. For me, the aggravation comes from it being way too big for my small head. Plus I hate the bottom strap that tugs at my neck at the bottom of my skull. I wear a full face mask that comes with a built in chin piece so the chin strap is not an issue for me. It's finding something that will feel the least cumbersome on my head and neck.

Reading the discussion about the pantyhose certainly brought a grin to my face. Looks like I'll make a Walgreen stop for some cheap pantyhose

You know, I think it's unfortunate that the CPAP companies are not willing to listen and help Sleep Apnea patients beyond making universal equipment for everyone. I believe there are a lot of people with sleep problems who won't do anything about it because of the thought having to wear the yucky looking equipment.

This is my soyala headgear - works for both nasal and FF - might need size change however. My somnoplus headgear is almost same- very cheap too

Jules, I'm glad this old thread resurfaced. I thought I had given you a Lab Rat award for coming up with those nifty, comfy straps to replace the Soyala headgear.

I could run a list of possible thoughts but then it comes down to "who cares" what they think?

They might be thinking those won't help?
