Hi all:
Five months in. Started on fixed CPAP at 6.0. Not good results. Worked with Pugsy to raise pressure incrementally and switched to APAP mode. Now in a high, tight range of 18.0-20.0cm with an AHI generally below 2.0. She suggested I probably needed a Bi-level/Bipap since the pressure needs to be that high to get good results.
Doctor's appointment late this afternoon and we are going to discuss it. The question is, which model(s) should I push for? I definitely want to continue to monitor my progress with Sleepyhead. Other than that, I rely on your expertise.
New prescription today for BiLevel/BiPap, I think
Re: New prescription today for BiLevel/BiPap, I think
If you need to change machines right now and use SleepyHead right now, push for the PR 760 AutoBiPap. Some are still available new from DMEs. Otherwise keep and eye out for a lightly used one on this forum or post asking for one.
If you are willing the wait until the new version of SleepyHead is ready, then push for the newer DreamStation Auto BiPap and cover the time until SleepyHead for the DreaStations is ready by getting a copy of the most recent Encore Pro.
Before you make that decision and you have a Windows computer, download the Encore Pro and see if it installs properly on your machine. Some folks install without issues and others have big issues and / or can't install at all.
With a Mac, there is a "test" version of SleepyHead that does support DreamStation CPAPs and you should post a request for a link - I have seen it but I don't remember where.

I use a PR 760. I have used Resmed APAP. I like the 760. Some people adhere to the idea that if you are used to a brand you should stick to it; reducing the learning curve. That’s probably true!

My Aircurve 10 Vauto works great in the 1.0 beta of Sleepyhead, and mostly okay in the 0.9.8 testing version.

Usually ~EPAP 6, IPAP 12

As it turns out, we decided to not mess with success and stay the course. Thanks for the comments anyway.
