Mask air too warm - Solutions?

Post by DannyGo » Fri Mar 25, 2016 11:58 pm

Hello my CPAP brothers and sisters;

This is my first week using my CPAP and I am having a REALLY HARD TIME! I NEED YOUR HELP.

My mask gets too warm, I feel like I'm breathing into a paper bag.
Does anybody know what to do in this case?
Is it related to humidity, should I lower it or increase it?

Any advice is welcomed.

Danny

you need to add your equipment and mask to your profile .. also any information about your machine settings.
are you using the ramp feature of the machine .... that can give to sensation of starving for air ... breathing into a bag..
If your machine is a auto with the pressure set at 4 to 20 ... that may be too low a starting pressure.
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

What are your humidity settings and are you using a 'heated hose' or ?? Have you tried different settings? Turned off the heated one?

There is a post here somewhere about running a hose through a styrofoam cooler filled with ice. Maybe search for "cooler"?

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
