Amara View ffm with Resmed ClimateLine heated hose?

Post by ClayL » Fri Mar 25, 2016 12:46 pm

My wife (me too) just got an Amara View ffm that so far she thinks is the best thing since sliced bread (me too). The problem is that she would like to use it with her Resmed ClimateLine heated hose - she has a Resmed S9 BIPAP - and the Amara short hose end is too small for the opening on the Resmed hose.
I checked with CPAP.com and at this point they do not have an adapter. Also just emailed Respironics but no answer yet - I doubt if they will supply an adapter for a competitors hose but thought I would try anyway.
Googled it with no results. Has anyone found a solution for this?

If all else fails I think I can jury-rig a solution by using some self amalgamating silicon tape to seal the Amara short hose end in the ClimateLine hose opening but it would be nice to have a better solution.

ClimateLine hose end ID =.903 in/22.94 mm
Amara short hose end OD = .874 in/22.2mm ID = .756 in/ 19.22 mm

I was told to connect my ClimateLine directly to the mask. I also do this with my Dreamwear. I called the supplier and they said that these masks are designed for that.

All hose connections are 22MM. Heated and non-heated. Sounds like the ClimateLine is a little worn and not fitting snug with the short hose. A rubber band around the outside should tighten it up.

I agree that the hose fitting is stretched out. I use the ClimateLine hose with an Amara View and have never had any trouble with the short hose not fitting into the ClimateLine hose.

all cpap hose connections are a nominal 22mm. there are no adapters.

your climateline end has softened, the same happened to my roommates climateline hose recently, I noticed that he was having to stick the mask end back into it. it was just pulling out easily.

stick the hose on, and wrap some rubber bands, silicone tape, or tie some thread around the end of the climateline hose to give it some grip. I did the same thing with my first plain hose after it'd lost it's grip after a couple years, it was fine from then on until I replaced it with a longer hose. (waste not want not, etc)

The climate line hose has been used with a mask that requires an adapter which has never been unplugged and still fits snugly so it being stretched out is not the problem . Unless the adapter being inserted has stretched it a little.

EDIT:I just tried it (Amara short hose) with an old 18 mm climate line hose hose and it does fit. That was the first heated hose we had and then we got the hose in question which is a 22 mm hose - we ordered it with the oxygen hose attachment option and the fitting is larger unless the adapter used stretched it.

I will just assume that the fitting is stretched and deal with it.

Okay - wrapped a rubber band around the fitting and the climate line hose short hose fits tightly.
Thanks everyone.
