Dry mouth
Dry mouth
I have been using my C-pap for 12 months now and normally get on well with it. I have had a sore throat for 3 wks and have not been able to use cpap as required due to long coughing fits and dry, itchy throat. I have tried pastel saliva enhancers but they are not working for me at the moment....any one got any ideas ....do I need to seek GP's help. (I have been waiting 2 wks already for an appointment.
Re: Dry mouth
Couple of things... are you using a humidifier? Are you taking Lisinopril (which causes dry coughing)? Have you considered having a full face mask on hand for future colds, etc as so many of us do to allow us to mouth breathe when needed without losing Cpap air?

Which model mask do you normally use? For reference, most masks can be found here - https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks.phpchinny724 wrote:I have had a sore throat for 3 wks and have not been able to use cpap as required due to long coughing fits and dry, itchy throat.
We can give you lots of advice, but we might give you bad advice if we don't know which mask you are using.

Search this site for 'orajel'... I just got eleven pages of hits on orajel dry mouth moisturizer. I use it and like its taste, plus it lasts all night.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
