Problem with my Fisher Paykel Icon

Post by gingerdos » Wed Mar 09, 2016 5:39 pm

I have been finding my cpap on at bedtime. At first I thought I was forgetting to turn it off. I made sure I turned it off, but several days later it was on again. Then I thought maybe my water bottle I keep on the night stand could hit the button and turn it on. I tried pushing the bottle into the cpap but it doesn't turn it on. Any ideas? Anyone have this happen?
I have an appointment with Apria tomorrow, but I'm not expecting it to help. I was told it was still under warrantee, so I could get a new one. I hope who ever I see believes me.

I've been told that the icons are poorly shielded, and even leaving a mobile phone next to them can corrupt data, maybe interference can turn them on too?

Have you asked the cat? Mine routinely steps on my on/off to wake me for breakfast!

I've kept my mobile phone charging next to my F&P with no problems.

I have two cats, who enjoy lying on the bed. The icon has a big button on the front not on top and it is on a small table I don't think the cats could turn it on. I don't think my large 20lb rag doll cats can even fit on the table.

Fisher Paykel are pretty good with warrantee. I know that they have 2 year warrantee but sometimes the company that sells you the device may have bought it and had it in inventory for awhile. Make sure that you tell them when you purchased it and not to go by the manufacture date. They are pretty understanding about that.

Well I took my cpap to Apria today. They also found that the software is malfunctioning. They had trouble downloading data. It showed that I did not use the cpap for 6 days in 2016. I use it every night. It did not have any data prior to 2016.
They are going to get me a new icon.

My problem is that the machine turns on appears to b fine and then before it can even blow any air shuts itself off. Then I a minute it turns itself back on and then before any air blows it shuts itself. The cycle keeps repeating itself. Have tried un plugging, a different plug etc. Any ideas.
