POLL: What type of bed pillow do you use?

Post by RRL » Sat Feb 27, 2016 8:22 pm

What type of bed pillow do you use most often? Please post the type you use if it's not listed. Brand name recommendations are welcome. I use a hand-me-down TempurPedic pillow that seems of normal height and firmness, but would like to get a new pillow and am curious if there are certain types that tend to work best for various xPAP users.

Edit=added "bed" to clarify

Yes - I did forget the fact that some do not use a pillow. Thanks!

I've used a tempurpedic pillow for years, but now that I'm a cpap user (two weeks now), it wasn't working well. I'm a side sleeper, and the pillow pushed my mask just enough to be a bit bothersome, so I ordered a CPAP Pillow from Contour Living. I've slept on it two nights now and really like it, with one adjustment after the first night . . . it wasn't quite tall enough under my neck, so I folded a hand towel and put it inside the pillowcase, under the front edge of the pillow.

I try not to use the pillow with the incline bed frame. When I side sleep I try to position the pillow so I will roll off of it when I roll on my back, which I will. Been using the soft neckbrace more often than initially because it provides a more predictable result than risking letting my head slump forward. I used to be quite afraid of the neckbrace, but not so much anymore.

I think you will find...like in most posts...this will not help you at all. The choices will be all over the board. Tou also ignored the "CPAP Pillow".

I chose other. My pillow is memory foam on the inside, but the outer is a quilted cotton or poly. However, I only use a pillow right when I get to bed. After 5 or 10 minutes I flop over to my belly and push my pillow into the headboard and go without one the rest of the night....unless I get out of bed..then it starts all over again.

I still have not found the perfect pillow. My old Tempurapedic works ok. I just recently bought 2 MyPillow pillows for myself and my husband. We both don't like them. Not enough fill in either one, although according to their size chart, they should have just the right amount. Too bad I cannot send them back. I would never buy those pillows again.

I no longer use a pillow. I sleep with my head raised and use a cervical collar to keep my head from falling forward.

I may try this Bed pillow . I like that it's shapeable, adjustable, stays "cool and dry", and is machine washable. Thanks for mentioning it!

Edit = syntax
