REMStar M Series questions

New member here, but I've been using a CPAP for about 15 years. I have a couple of questions that I'm sure have been covered here, but after a few unsuccessful searches I thought I'd post them.

1) I have question about settings on an older REMStar M series CPAP (model 1051158). It has two settings for H2O, one displays a ramp symbol and and one displays a triangle. From what I've read, this is a "fine tuning" of the O2 setting. Is this correct? If not, please enlighten me. If anyone can provide a link to the clinician's manual for this machine, I'd be grateful.

I don't use the ramp setting, so it's not that important to me. I don't use the humidifier, as I am on the gulf coast, and the air us usually plenty humid enough for me.

2) My REMStar has the blinking light on the humidifier knob issue. I never received a recall notice, and it never bothered me since I do not use the humidifier. I've read all kinds of things, including a warning that this machine with this issue could present a fire hazard. Is this correct - have there been any documented instances of this unit catching fire?
The recall was in 2009 - does anyone know Resperonics is still offering replacement of this unit?

The Setup Guide that I have shows the triangle to indicate Fine Pressure Adjustment which allows the provider !o calibrate the device so lhe pressure setting can be verified with a mamometer The range is -1.9 to + 1.9 cm/H2O

I don't know about the fire risks but there is a youtube video on how to repair this so you might Google that and see what you come up with.

Just so you know, there's a lot of great deals on the previous generation of CPAP machines since both PR and ResMed came out last year with brand new models. Just ask for some links if you think you want to go that way. Here's an example and this is a BiLevel machine BTW:

Use Paypal with craigslist or private sellers, plus view and test the machine in person, if at all possible.
