Thanks to all of you, you've been very helpful.

At this time, my thinking is this system, DreamWear won't work for me. I do sleep with my face in the pillow and not off the edge, often to the point where the left nasal pillow is buried.
I do have the Tap Pap mask and one of the issues I have with it is the pillow runs into the side of all that stuff out front putting tension on the front of my face. I mention this because
I know that if I have buy a mask that can be pushed to the side by my pillow I will have problems.
I keep watching for that perfect mask for me to come on the market.

Thanks again,
Bryan

Watch this video before you think you won't be able to stuff your face in your pillow. Remember there is an extra vent on the top for if the one in front gets blocked.

I sleep with my face in the pillow all the time. The Dreamwear works great for this, provided that you have the fit and adjustment right. I think you should give it a try, you can always return it.

I sleep with my face buried in my pillow all the time (or at least as often as my back will allow because it doesn't like me on my stomach). I don't necessarily have to be on the edge of the pillow and most of the time I am not.
I woke up this way this morning with my head barely turned to the side and my face almost buried in the bed pillow and my pillow isn't soft...it's a buckwheat hull/foam combo.
I tried the DreamWear for a month and I slept that way with it also. It just couldn't quite displace the ResMed P10 nasal pillow or I would be using it all the time.

Now of course not all masks will work for everyone but what you describe as wanting to do is doable with the DreamWear. My own personal preference is for me to have the least amount of "stuff" on my face and head so the DreamWear (while very minimal in general) couldn't beat out my P10 nasal pillow but I kept the DreamWear because I did use it for a month (which is saying something right there because if I don't like something it only gets a 1 or 2 night trial) and it worked out well.

There's a DreamWear review thread where I went into more detail with my experiences. Have you seen it?
Lots of comments from people and the majority was positive. If you can't find it let us know and we will try to point you to it.

Wow, that's a great video and very encouraging. I'm now convinced to give it a try.

Thank you,
Bryan

Pugsy,

I don't remember if I've seen your review yet, I did search on a couple of occasions and read but it seems like I read the same stuff twice.
I do have the Airfit P10 and used it a bit and I think I wanted it as a back up and not a daily driver, still using the Headrest.
I'm going to give the DreamWear a try after-all.

Thank you,
Bryan

I think my biggest hurdle with the DreamWear was simply the different feel to where the air was blowing ON my nostrils. It's just not the same as with the nasal pillows which of course blow IN the nostrils.
For several nights I "felt" leaks that weren't there. The air blowing on the nostril skin is normal but it sure felt like leaks to my brain which has been conditioned to "air blowing only in the nostrils and not on them".

Bottom line is that each person simply has to try a mask to see if it suits them or not. What I like in a mask you may not like.

If you buy from cpap.com you know about the free return insurance. They don't have the package with the 3 different frame sizes but do have the different nasal cushion sizes.
So if you hate it you can send it back. If you elect to purchase the Large frame at the same time it of course isn't returnable but I bet you could sell it here on the forum fairly easily and not get hurt too badly on the price.
I would bet someone using the medium is itching to try the large frame.

Be sure to use the phone for ordering because the actual price is $20 less than the posted price IF you call.
You need to call though and not just do all the ordering online.

So for any one seeing "call for pricing" for any Respironics product....make the call because there is a discount available by phone and you can save some money. If you don't see the "call for price" posted then it means the discount is already taken and that's the posted price.

[quote="Pugsy"] I think my biggest hurdle with the DreamWear was simply the different feel to where the air was blowing ON my nostrils.

This could be an issue for me, I've tried a nasal mask over my nose as opposed to the nasal pillows and I just couldn't warm up to it. I didn't really try it in the sense as I never slept with one, I just trying it on at the DME. I did watch that video posted in this thread for the DreamWear and was very encouraged, or swayed by his review- at least enough to give it a try.

This is very good information Pugsy, thanks so much.

Bryan

Thanks you so much Jagzoo for mentioning your "buckwheat/shredded foam pillow"! I've been struggling with mask leaks while sleeping on my side since I started therapy about 5 weeks ago. Even with the DreamWear I'd end up pushing the tubes away from my face as I'd roll over and displace the nose piece. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday and bought a bucketwheat/millet pillow and tried it out last night. I figured I'd have to fiddle around with things a bit. Laid down on my left side - no leaks, no mask displacement. Rolled onto my right side - no leaks again! I woke up several hours later because I was extremely warm. My husband had snuggled up facing me! (He said if he does get hit by the air from the nose piece port, he tries to think of it as a cool tropical breeze off the ocean.) I thought that a pillow change would just be another part of the puzzle of reducing mask leaks, but it seems to be the solution (excuse me while I knock on some wood). I'll obviously need some more nights of use to be sure, but I was so excited by the difference that I just had to say thank you.
