Hello Everyone,
Thanks for all the information. I have read some, but there is so much here it is going to take awhile. I have so much to learn.
I started my therapy on 12/28/15. So I haven't been doing this very long. I have been able to use my machine for around 7 hours a night. I do sleep OK, but the mask drives me crazy. I have to wear a chin strap because I breath through my nose. I have a deviated septum on one side, but it doesn't seem to interfere too much. I don't really mind breathing through the mask and the way the air feels. My problem is getting it to fit correctly. I don't like sleeping on my back because it makes my back hurt. If I sleep on my side, I can feel the air leaking out next to my nose. Because of this problem, I tighten the mask to stop the leaks. Then I am able to sleep on my side. In the morning, I wake up in the morning and I have marks all over my face from the nasal mask and from the chin strap. I think I am over-tightening both the nasal mask and the chin strap. One big problem is that I was diagnosed recently with Rosacea. I am supposed to put an ointment on my face at night. I try to put it on early in the evening so it is absorbed into my face by the time I go to bed. The last couple of days, I have noticed that I am starting to break out on my face on the side of my nose where the nasal mask sits. I am also sensitive to the adhesive used on band-aids. I do not have a latex allergy. I am not sure if this makes a difference or not. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I have contacted my provider and I asked her if I could try a nasal pillow mask and see if it worked better for me. I am assuming that I will still have to wear the chin strap. I would really appreciate any advice.
Also, I have been using the ResMed myair software. My numbers have been in the 90s. I plan on checking out Sleepyhead, but I need to purchase an SD card reader first.
Thanks,
Veronica

Re: Newbie Questions
Hello and welcome. Yes, there's a lot of information on here but the good thing is you can absorb it bit by bit on an as needed basis. About the skin problems, sounds like a nasal pillows style mask might be better for you. And yes, you'd likely still need the chin strap. If you want to stay with your mask, maybe a mask liner would help. You can make your own out of an old t-shirt or order them online. Search "mask liner" on the forum if that interests you. A forum member called PadACheek sells them. She also has strap covers to help with facial imprints from tight straps.

Re: Newbie Questions
Congratulations on your treatment success, while the MyAir doesn't provide a lot of information numbers in the 90's is very good. I don't know a lot about computers but I am able to just take the SD card and insert it into my laptop for Sleepyhead.red_roni wrote:Hello Everyone,
