There is a great deal of truth in what you have said, however many of the readers of this site will never, ever believe it. Some have said that they believe the companies involved in health care actually meet to devise ways to harm people. They are simply not able to see past the hatred they have of these business to see anything objectively.
Gee.....I wonder WHY so many of the people who post here would have "hatred" for them? Ya don't suppose they earned it, do ya?
Actually, there are quite a few here that DO like their local DMEs. We're always glad for them when they do report their good experiences.

Personally, I've never had any financial dealings with any, so I have nothing bad to say about my local ones.

I was responding to the bogus information Maskmeister brought up from a business perspective.

By the way, you're full of crap, too.

Heh! Outta curiousity, why?

By the way, I never said there was anything wrong with people hating their dme company. Heck, I never even suggested the ones being hated might not have earned it. All I was saying was that for many, that hatred was blinding them to ever see that there IS some truth to what the Macmeister guy was saying.

Dear Guest,

I see Maskmeister refuted with specific challenges to his statements and opposing statements. It could create a useful debate if Maskmeister is up to it. Now you come in and say posters are hate driven. That is a cheap shot not worthy of a post. Why not attack their ideas? You are being read my many that do not post. You have a chance to present your views and perhaps influence them. Take it.

Can you dig up some posts from the forum that can substantiate these statements?

I seriously doubt it!

We don't "hate" them all or as a group/industry.....even though many, many posters have told stories of some very bad experiences with them.
On the other hand, they're not ALL "evil"......but obviously, there are SOME.

Ehhh, I want to be really clear on this that I only was making the claim that many of the people here will not be able to see past thier hatred of the system to be objective. I'm not saying they are driven by hate or anything else. Just that it's keeping them from being objective. It's a very easy thing to fall into. I certainly have from time to time! It's part of being human.

I have also many times over laid out why I think the dme companies are not nearly as bad - on the whole - as many make them out to be. I don't work for one (Though everytime I supported them I was accused of such but not being honest) nor do I have a vested interest in one. I just have had very good success with them (and been accused of lying about that), and I've taken the time to speak to those I've dealt with and listened to thier side of things. I've been objective enough to see the place both internet companies and dme companies have in the world. Both have advantages and disadvantages depending on circumstances.
Generally when I tried to have a discussion, I got a response like Wulfmans saying I was full of crap.
So yeah, that's why. Heh!

That's because you are hiding behind the guest name. It makes it harder for someone to respect what you say if they don't know who you are. Why are you so afraid to register a name?

Dear Guest,

Just look at the above post. Understand that the shear brain power brought to these discussions is more than you can handle.

Guest,

I believe I've made my feelings known about the DMEs and other business entities involved with this therapy......and why I felt that your generalizations were "crap". Also, if you want to have a "constructive" discussion on various aspects of this therapy.....like, how we could solve some of the problems with compliance (or lack thereof)......that would be great, too. Maybe you can share some of their thoughts (the ones you've had good experience with) as to how THEY think that problem can be solved.

Well.....waddayathink?

Come on Guest, I thought you were going to present some defense of your claims. Your roll over so easily.

Goofproof was simply exploring a medical reality. It was a point well made.

Have a nice day.
DARN!......just when we were becoming "friends".......

Well, you WERE in this discussion.

If you want to come up with a "moniker", you can still post as a "guest".....many do. It gets kind of confusing at times not knowing WHICH "guest" we're talking to when there are multiples in the same thread.
(I still haven't changed my mind on allowing "Guest" posting)

As far as your perceived "insults"......ya gotta have a pretty thick hide if you're going to take on some of us old, sleep-deprived geezers.
However, we're getting more oxygen to our brains, now, so we're thinking better than we used to.

Y'all have a nice day, too.

Throwing another log on the fire

I am not a doctor, dme, or cpap company employee - however I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Give Resmed a break. This company has spent millions developing the products we use every day so we can get a decent night's sleep. I can't hate them for that.

If they want to change their distribtion strategy, that's their business.
