Thanks for your thoughtful response, Jay. I appreciate the comments. I, too, believe my pressure settings are too high and was able to contact my doctor and request data be sent to him to determine if I might reduce my max pressure. My hopes weren't high because it's the day before Christmas, but miracle! I got word back that I could reduce my max pressure from 16 to 10 based on my usage. Hooray! Because OkyDoky pointed out the clinical manual to me, I was then able to set it up myself. I think my mouth leaks will be less of an issue and my aerophagia too. I sensed what you suggested, that I not tape yet so I can have an air outlet if the system acted wonky again.
I'm optimistic about tonight's sleep, and couldn't have gotten this far without the vast resources on this site and the caring expertise of you folks!
