airsense 10 heated tube not work?

Post by vitomatt » Sat Dec 19, 2015 5:54 pm

Hi
Have brand new resmed airsense 10 auto w/ heated tube.
When machine first turns on, I can feel the tube warm up (it is set to default of 81 degrees - room is 60-62 degrees).
However the tube only stays warm for a minute or two... thereafter and throughout the nite, it never feels warm again; plus only sections of the tube feel warm, not the entire tube.
I have made sure that the tube is fully and properly attached.
Faulty tube? Machine?
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Matt

I don't use a heated tube, but, I thought the tube heated the air...not the tube itself.

Tube heats the air by becoming heated itself....kinda like a pan heating water.. the pan gets hot so the water gets hot.

There's an orange wire that lines the entire tube. Regardless, of how the mechanism works.... if the air gets warm, the tube is gonna get warm. Or vice versa. Either way, it aint working from what i can tell.

someone posted within the last week ... about there hose electrical plug on the humidifier being melted and not connecting ... look close at the connector .. see if burned .
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

At first, the tube might feel warm as the incoming air is cold, and the tube has to be warmer to get it up to temperature. However, as the humidifier heats the air, the tube will not feel much warmer than room temperature since there is less energy required to heat the air from humidifier temperature to final temperature.

As per a previous post where the diagnostic code actually popped up, the machine has diagnostics for the hose. If there is a problem, the machine will show you an error.

Have airsense as well- was getting rainout so went into the menu and took it off auto and set it to warm to 85
that seems to stop the rain

sounds like your room is pretty cool-- maybe just try upping the temp? see if it works
