There are a lot of people complaining about them! They would like you to settle with them for like $7500 and even told some people to show up at bankruptcy court the next day.

You know scammers can put any phone number on the caller ID. I've had calls come to my home phone with my husband's name and cell number when he was setting right in front of me.

They call me from my own phone number!

That would not do them any good (to spoof the number) if they want you to call back to pay them some cash.

True. I've never had an IRS one but many others. Why can't they track down these dirt bags if it is a real number. I'd lay odds you never get through. Even if it is a real number they are going to want to keep it busy with out going calls so they can reach someone that they can con money out of right then. If they really take return calls maybe the IRS will call.

This IRS one hasn't called me from my own number just some other telemarketers that don't want you to have their numbers It does shock you at first to see your own home phone number on the caller ID. Also strange if they have your children's cell number somehow because of course you would never not answer a call from your child. Also gives them an out from the do not call list.
