Your doctor may not be aware of SleepyHead software.
Does he use any software or does he rely on the DME to furnish reports?
DMEs and doctors usually will be using Encore software and thus familiar with Encore.
Some docs are okay with SleepyHead results but some may not trust it if they aren't familiar with it.
Encore is going to show the same thing though...do you know if the doctor has software to generate his own reports or does he rely on the DME to furnish a report?

We can get you Encore...that's not a problem...then you could take both.
If he has Encore in his office all you need to take is the SD card but I would take a couple of examples of those ugly SH reports....especially that AHI graph and the events graph.

Amara view full face. The new one out. And is it hard with insurance to get to change to the bilevel machine?

It shouldn't be all that hard in your situation to change to bilevel.
The documented need is clear cut...your current machine can't go high enough.
Not to mention the comfort part...the fact that your machine can't go high enough to prevent the events should be enough reason to go to bilevel.

Now if your pressure used was 9 cm and you were whining about exhaling against it...yeah it would be an uphill battle for sure but not with what you are using now and the fact that you sometimes need a whole lot more pressure.

Now if (big IF) the ugly times are only related to sleeping on your back some people might suggest just staying off your back but sometimes that is easier said than done and sometimes we have to sleep on our backs (like when my shoulders were messed up) so it's best to cover all bases with a machine that can do the job and not rely on "just stay off your back" thing.
Besides...some of it could be related to REM sleep and we have no control over REM.

He shows me a chart that shows how many hours I wear it. I asked him if he had any charts that could explain what was going I and he said no.

What the hell was he using to get the hours of use chart?
He could get more if he wanted to.....

When are you going to plan on seeing him again?
Do you want Encore?
Do you think he will accept SleepyHead? Some docs will and some won't but they have to accept Encore results.
Your machine works well with EncoreBasic so you can avoid the Encore Pro headaches.
Windows only though.

That's the experience of many of us. In the final analysis, almost all of us got better, often much better, therapy once we learned how to use the software to analyze and tweak our CPAP therapy.

Some have made an analogy to treating diabetes. The insulin-dependent diabetic who gets the best treatment is the one who educates himself, monitors his blood throughout the day, controls his diet and adjusts his insulin treatments. No doctor can be there to do that for the patient.

It's a bit the same with CPAP therapy. Let the patient educate himself and acquire the tools to control his therapy, and the results will be better than relying on medical professionals.

It's a tiny bit of a stretch, but I like to say I only need my doctor for prescriptions and filling out paperwork for insurance.
