The 100% number for a mask fit or leak data point just means for 100% of the time you were NOT in large leak territory. It doesn't mean that there were no leaks...it just means whatever leaks you might have had didn't make it to large leak territory.
Respironics machines have a rather generous window of acceptable leaks that they can compensate for before you get flagged with a large leak flag.
If your leak % number was 95% then that means 95 % of the time you stayed out of large leak territory and 5 % of the time you were in large leak territory.
Respironics machines large leak territory will vary a bit with the mask used and pressure used.
Normally somewhere up around 80 to 90 L/min total leak (vent rate plus excess leak).
So you very well could have felt some leaks while awake and still have a leak reporting of 100% because the leaks were small and didn't make it into large leak territory.
ResMed machines have a much tighter window...I never get large leak flags with my Respironics machines but I usually get at least a small large leak flag with my ResMed machine.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
