It's kinda hard to get a good picture from the numbers when they are not in their entirety as in the report. Assuming the AHI of 21 is from the diagnostic part of your study, did your report show the pressure of 7 resolved your events? At any rate, since you are one to get into the details, you should be able to address any treatment questions that might arise. What exactly did the report say about leg movements, maybe referred to as PLMs? Are they problematic or just a passing mention?dwhla wrote: ...CPAP titration @ 7... AHI 21... Leg movements...

Yes, it did resolve the events.kteague wrote:It's kinda hard to get a good picture from the numbers when they are not in their entirety as in the report. The 21 number came from distributing it across all positions and stages.
Just reread the report...most of it is over my head.
Electromyogram revealed leg movements probably secondary to application of positive pressure movement. At any rate, since you are one to get into the details, you should be able to address any treatment questions that might arise. Hmm, I think there are two reports. One before the machine and after...
Before:
REM AHI/POS
supine: 28.8
Left: 45.0
Leg movements, PLMs, all 0.
After machine (I'm just assuming but I don't see that written anywhere):
PLMs (I don't even know what that is): 80
leg movement index: 13.7/hr
leg movement arousal index: 2.2/hr
REM AHI/POS
supine: 9.6
Left: 8.9

There's something about RERAs.
Re: Newbie overwhelmed & trying to get started
PLMs is for Periodic Limb Movements. These are limb (usually leg) movements that meet certain criteria and are deemed not related to efforts to breathe. They can be a problem, or they can not be a problem at all. It's too soon to tell. I think you've got enough to deal with right now getting your CPAP treatment started and running smoothly. If after settling in with your treatment you find your legs are disturbing your sleep we can talk again, but there may not even be a need. Good luck with everything.dwhla wrote: Hmm, I think there are two reports. One before the machine and after...
