Third night- major mask leak
upon awakening this morning i recieved an email from MyAir saying i had a major mask leak and i had a sad smiley face on my machine. i have been cleaning my cushion everyday in warm soapy water and havent really messed with the fit since i got it. i looked through the videos on the resmed myair sleep library to try to figure out how to stop the leak but it didnt help much. any suggestions or tips would be highly appreciated.

When you say you haven't "messed" with the mask, do you mean you have never tightened the mask straps? New mask headgears will stretch when the headgear is new. It will require repeated adjustment until it eventually stop stretching out.

Re: Third night- major mask leak
To get Mr Frowny face on your machine it means that for 30% or more of the night your leak was above 24 L/min.
Are you using the mask in your profile which is a nasal interface mask and that means the mouth is uncovered.
My first suspect for that much large leak is mouth breathing.
Use the software available to see in the detail just how far into large leak territory you went and how long you were up there.
Like was it mainly 25 L/min or was it 35 L/min...big difference in the 2 in terms of effect on therapy.
The higher you go and the longer you are up there the greater the chances of sub optimal therapy due to leaks...and it doesn't matter if it is mouth leak or mask seal leak...leak is leak no matter where it is from.
Mouth breathing often has a plateau appearance instead of sporadic spikes.
If it is mouth breathing...gotta keep the mouth shut better. A little mouth breathing isn't the end of the world but 30% or more of the night...needs to be worked on for sure...either use a chin strap or tape or something to keep the mouth shut and/or maybe change to a full face mask.
So let's look at the leak graphs to see what is going on for sure and just how bad it is before deciding on what to do.
Also make sure that you aren't having a leak in the hose or connections somewhere.

If your computer has a slot for a SD card then you don't need any kind of card reader.
If your computer doesn't have a slot for a SD card then you will need to use one of your USB ports and also need a card reader/adapter. One end for the USB port and one end for the SD card.
Cheap generic is fine. No need for name brand or special reader/adapter.
