how to set correct time on a System 1 550P

Post by grybeard77 » Fri Oct 30, 2015 4:32 pm

I've been lurking for a long time and staying in touch best I can, but now I need some help. My Rem Star system one 550P is one hour off and I finally would like to reset Sleepy Head to the correct time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..

You have to make the time adjustment in SleepyHead.
There is no way to alter the time in a Respironics machine because the clock is internal and we can't get to it.

So just either use a different time zone in SleepyHead if it's just one hour different or use the Clock drift feature to sync your machine to real time.
Clock drift is found in Preferences/CPAP tab in upper left corner.
It's available on the latest version...don't know about other versions as I don't remember.

Apparently they have never figured out how to keep the machines from losing time. The old Legacy and M models would lose about 1 - 2 minutes a month.
And, since the time is set at the factory, they need to be sent to a facility which can replace the batteries and reset the clocks.
It's really not that hard to do (I have the cable and software for the old Legacy and M Series models), but is not necessarily cheap buying the cable.

A bit more information that might help. I am running SH version 9.2.3 Beta on a Macbook Pro running version 10.9.5 and getting older by the minute.
I do have the "Clock drift" on my version of SH, it adjusts in seconds, and have no idea how to adjust it to set it back one hour......
No longer consider my self at 86 computer savvy enough to do a update after reading Marks "how to" and all it involves.

If there isn't a simpler cure, guess I will always be one hour off. NO BIG DEAL!!!!!!

Go to "Edit your profile" and see if you can either turn off or on DST and see if that fixes the 1 hour issue or simply choose a different time zone to make it right.

Clock drift is more for a few minutes being off.
To do for an hour...60 minutes times 60 seconds per minute...that's a lot of seconds but it can be done.

I would fiddle with the time zone if it were me.

Thanks Pugsy, but there isn't a DST option that I can see in that old version I have. Just the seconds clock drift, and I can not change it one hour by clicking each second it would take to change it...

Maybe I might get up enough courage to try Mark's up date requirements. OR, what would I have to do if I wanted to get SH latest version on my old laptop today if I never had it installed before???? His instructions scare me!!!!!

Do you not even have a time zone adjustment on that old version? I thought all versions had time zones.
Just choose a time zone in front or behind you by one hour (whichever corrects the time issue).

If you don't have a time zone and really want the newer version I can walk you through it.
Just contact me via private message and we will work it out.

Though I just tried the clock drift thing that I have... I have hours, minutes and seconds available and I don't have to click the little arrow...I just can plug in a number like 3600 seconds.

Are you in an area that doesn't use Daylight Savings Time?
Tomorrow night we revert back to Standard time.
Are you sure your machine is actually the one that's "off" by an hour?
Is your computer misrepresenting the times?

WOW, your right on. completely forgot about DST. I just moved from Arizona back to Calif a few months ago and now I think you have solved my problem. Come Sunday, or is it Monday and my machine will be correct. Think I might still look into updating SH.....

Thanks Den,

I liked that clock drift option so much I put a picture up All that time using SH and I never tried it. BTW, I'm running SH version .9.8.1. and love it a bunch.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
